Questions teams ask before putting PressAI into a workflow.
Short answers about what PressAI does, how AI is connected, who controls publishing and where each edition fits.
Is PressAI just an AI writer?
No. PressAI connects source monitoring, evidence, AI assistance, editorial review, quality checks, search signals and controlled publishing inside WordPress.
Does PressAI replace editors?
No. It structures the workflow and brings evidence, warnings and next actions into the same workspace. Editorial responsibility remains with your team.
Who pays for AI usage?
You use your own provider account and API key. Provider usage is billed by that provider under your account.
Which AI providers can Pro connect to?
PressAI Pro includes integrations for OpenAI, Gemini, OpenRouter, Anthropic and DeepSeek. Model availability depends on your provider account.
Where are provider credentials stored?
Provider credentials are stored through PressAI's protected WordPress settings flow and are not intended to be exposed in logs or public output.
Does PressAI require a vendor-hosted AI service?
No. The editorial workflow runs inside your WordPress installation. External services are used when you explicitly configure integrations such as an AI provider, monitored source or search connector.
Does PressAI publish automatically?
Only when you configure the relevant operating mode, permissions and publishing rules. Draft, schedule and publish actions remain governed by workflow state and access control.
What happens when sources disagree?
Multi-Source Evidence separates corroborated facts, single-source claims and critical conflicts. Conflicting critical facts are surfaced for review instead of being silently resolved.
Is Lite a time-limited trial?
No. Lite is a separate free edition focused on supported source monitoring and manual editorial curation.
Can I use PressAI without AI?
Yes. Lite does not require an AI provider account. Pro can also be operated with human-controlled workflow choices; AI-dependent features require a configured provider.
Does PressAI manage WordPress hosting, backups or plugin updates?
No. PressAI manages the editorial operation. Hosting, server administration, WordPress maintenance, backups and infrastructure security remain separate responsibilities.
Where should I start after installation?
Start with Sources, then review Settings and the operating mode, connect AI only if you need it, and use the Quick Start guide before enabling broader automation.
What data can leave my WordPress site?
Data leaves WordPress when a feature you configure needs an external service, such as a monitored source, AI provider, search connector or webhook. The security guide explains those boundaries.
Can I restrict who is allowed to publish?
Yes. PressAI uses WordPress capabilities and workflow state so administrators can separate operational access from publishing authority.
What if my AI provider is unavailable?
The provider-dependent task can fail or retry without erasing the editorial context. Source monitoring, evidence and human review remain available, and the queue exposes operational failures for diagnosis.
How can I evaluate PressAI before using the full Pro workflow?
Use the Product Tour, read the operating documentation and start with the Lite edition for supported source monitoring and manual curation.
